Encased

Here is one of my new paintings. Acrylic on Canvas, 55X70cm.

I wanted to encase the features of the landscape within a system where cyclical motion flows between the parts of the painting. I was particularly interested in circulatory systems and comparing the organs within the body to the features of the landscape within a space. Empty spaces appear solid like organs fitting into one another. The inner landscape (under ground/inside the body) connects with the outer landscape (above ground/outside the body) and an energy grows from one point, expands and returns to that source: circulating in and out like breath or pumping like blood.
