Seville-Dry Landscape

We are back in Seville

Yesterday I walked through the city centre,  hugging the shaded side of the narrow streets. It's lovely to return to a place you know so well and catch up with good friends...great food and cold beers aplenty.

This morning I went for a walk through the olive groves beside our place and I  was thinking about when I visited Seville the first time and walked here in August. We had come directly from Ireland so the contrast was incredible. The landscape was bone dry.

All the vegetation becomes a subtle variation of the same colour and blends into the soil. It's lovely to walk in the morning or evening and see the shadows over the soil. When the sun is higher during the day, there is little sense of depth and colours are bleached.
